Madrona School Does not exist on Tuition Alone!

On the crisp evening of the Lantern Festival, our children sang in a circle. Then they walked into the dark, each holding a lantern they had fashioned in class. Our procession wound through Battle Point Park; the lanterns flickering like stars.

The singing of the children in the woods created a living embodiment of the Waldorf principle “learning in joy.” The glow invited families to pause, breathe, and remember the light and joy our community brings through the dark winter.

These moments do not happen by accident. They arise from the daily rhythm of morning circles, handwork, art-movement-integrated lessons, and seasonal celebrations—all lovingly cultivated by our teachers, families, and community. We need each of you - tuition covers only 80% of our costs to operate Madrona School.

Our year end giving goal for 2025 is $65,000—a collective gift that will:

  • Sustain the rhythmic flow of daily circles, handwork, and seasonal festivals.

  • Support professional development for teachers in weaving art, craft and movement into each day, and providing lessons that honor the seasons and the child’s development.

  • Provide scholarships so every child can walk the full Waldorf developmental epochs—from early‑childhood play to grade‑school inquiry.

In the spirit of the three‑fold social order, each contribution—whether a modest $25 joy gift or a $500 story-weaver gift—becomes a thread in the tapestry that holds Madrona together. When families, alumni, and friends give, we model for our children the Waldorf ideal of Gemeinschaft: a living community celebrating sharing and responsibility.

How to give: You can give in three ways.

All donations are tax-deductible.

Thank you for being a part of the Madrona School community. May the light we kindle today illuminate the coming year for every child at Madrona School. Together, let us keep the joy alive.
