parent-child classes

community and play

Led by Jocelyn Waite, an experienced Waldorf teacher, mother and grandmother, this class meets once a week to provide a sanctuary of safe play for your toddler and an oasis of calm and friendship for parents and caregivers. Each class provides:

  • The same daily rhythm, to nurture children’s security and familiarity.

  • Circle time with songs and simple puppet play.

  • Warm, homemade organic bread for snack time.

  • Outside play in our fully-enclosed play yard, with sand pits and climbing structures to develop large motor skills, balance and coordination.

  • Simple toys, made of natural materials, that stimulate open-ended play and develop imaginations.

  • Adult enrichment, including reading material on parenting and child development.

  • An opportunity for parents to seek advice and support from one another, as well as benefit from the teacher's extensive experience in early childhood education.
