Summer Camps 2024

Seashore and Woodland Adventure Camps

Led by Madrona Teacher Isaac Kemsley

Max enrollment: 18
$350 per week
Ages 5 - 12

Drop off your adventurers at a different park or beach each morning and we will explore the forests and shorelines of our beautiful Bainbridge Island during some of the sunniest days and lowest tides of the season. Hike, climb, dig, and discover natural wonders all while playing with a group of peers. Each day will involve a hike, exploration of wild spaces, child-led play, stories and discovery. Teacher Isaac has spent his lifetime teaching outdoors in the Northwest, and together with an assistant, we will all share stories and adventures with your children each day.

Tromp through the underbrush in search of the mischievous and magical folk that dwell beneath petals and roots. Build fairy houses and gnome grottos. Stories, crafts, songs, and dramatic play are all a part of the magic.

Whether digging in the earth or creating art, camp instructor Kim Vennerholm loves to get her hands dirty. Kim studied art history and design and has created handcrafts for her own businesses. She is an avid gardener and knowledgeable about the healing aspect of plants.

Curiosity, imagination, and play are at the heart of Kim’s work. She holds a masters degree in education and has taught kindergarten through grade nine for thirty years. She is a Waldorf educator having taught twelve years at Madrona School on Bainbridge Island and currently teaching sixth grade at Sunfield Farm in Chimacum.
