10-week series of classes - begin January 7, 8 & 9 - $225 per session

Wednesdays at 9:30 - 11:00 am for 6 - 12 month olds (mobile babies)
Thursdays at 12:30 - 2:00 pm for 2 - 6 month olds (not yet crawling)
Fridays at 12:30 - 2:00 for 12 - 18 month olds (young toddlers)

In a safe, challenging environment, parents encourage their babies to become attentive, active and exploring people who are self-rewarded in the mastery of new tasks.

  • Respecting and enjoying the individuality of each baby
  • Trusting your baby to be an initiator
  • Acknowledging and respecting your baby’s feelings and your own
  • Setting clearly defined limits and expectations to develop self-discipline
  • Observation, discussion and playful songs, verses and games for parent and baby

Taught by veteran teacher Kerry Grant who weaves a Waldorf approach with the work of Magda Gerber, founder of RIE (Resources for Infant Educaters.)

Please check their website or listen to the radio for emergency closure information. We will post updates if school will be closed or late because of inclement weather. Madrona School follows the BI public school closure schedule EXACTLY, so we are closed when they are closed.  If public schools run 2 hours late, then grades begins at 10:45 and there will be afternoon preschool only, with no kindergarten or morning preschool classes (or parent-tot).

Accessing Information about Emergency Situations:
• Internet: http://www.schoolreport.org/
• (206) 780-1556: District recorded emergency message
• Media: Announcements start at 5:30 AM (or as soon as
notice can be given after an emergency) for schedule
changes. Our goal is to notify stations by 5:15 AM. Radio/
TV stations will announce districts by name – “Bainbridge
Island School District #303.” (See district Emergency Communications Bulletin for a list of radio/TV stations.)
