bad weather school closure policy
Madrona School follows the Bainbridge Island School District’s lead for school closures. Please check their website or listen to the radio for emergency closure information. We will post updates if school will be closed or late because of inclement weather. Madrona School follows the BI public school closure schedule EXACTLY, so we are closed when they are closed. If public schools run 2 hours late, then grades begins at 10:45 and there will be afternoon preschool only, with no kindergarten or morning preschool classes (or parent-tot).
Accessing Information about Emergency Situations:
• Internet: http://www.schoolreport.org/
• (206) 780-1556: District recorded emergency message
• Media: Announcements start at 5:30 AM (or as soon as
notice can be given after an emergency) for schedule
changes. Our goal is to notify stations by 5:15 AM. Radio/
TV stations will announce districts by name – “Bainbridge
Island School District #303.” (See district Emergency Communications Bulletin for a list of radio/TV stations.)
You can also sign up for emergency closure notification by email on the Bainbridge School District site.
For more information, you may call the Madrona office after 7:30 AM and/or check here for updates
