"Parents today are bombarded by contradictions when they look for advice about how to act with their children.  We need, not another authority or set of rules by which to raise children, but a new way of seeing and understanding."

Parent-Toddler Classes

Ages 12 months to 3 years

Meets once a week

Four classes offered:
Thursday 9:00-11:00
Thursday 11:00-1:00
Friday 9:00-11:00
Friday 11:00-1:00

This class provides an opportunity for parents (or caregivers) to come together with their young children to experience the Waldorf approach to early childhood.

Parents meet to share parenting experiences and challenges with each other.  Young children are free to explore and play, secure in the comfort of a nearby parent.

The morning rhythm includes free play, circle time with songs, rhymes, finger plays and movement, story time, snack and outside play.  During free play, parents work on handwork and craft projects, snack preparation or classroom care.  As the adults are involved in purposeful work, the children, through imitation, are involved in their play.

Weekly handouts and observational activities on topics such as child development, parenting, life rhythms and Waldorf education will be available for parents.  Parent education seminars provide an opportunity for parents to further explore child development and parenting concerns.

Applications will be processed and accepted in the order received.  Space available on a first-come-first serve basis.

A parent meeting in early September serves to orient  parents about the class.
